A female Spider Hunting Wasp hunting for spiders.

I watched her ranging across the ground on foot (six of them), disappearing down holes and checking any crevice that could harbour suitable prey.

Both of the adult Spider Hunting Wasps are nectar feeders but each of the wasp's eggs are laid on a paralysed spider to provide a living food supply for the youngster's larval stage.
